Thousands flocked to NYC’s Times Square today for nationwide “No Kings” protests 🚫👑 — that drew millions in all 50 states — opposing Donald J. Trump’s increasingly authoritarian presidency, amid military, free speech, and civil liberty crackdowns, and mass deportations.

“We’re not part of a monarchy and kings don’t belong in this country or anywhere for that matter,” Brooklyn protester Jennifer Stewart🗽told me while reporting for Al Jazeera English at today’s “No Kings” anti-Trump protests.

“I’m out here fighting for justice, fighting for decency, fighting for people who I’ve never seen, who have never seen me. But I recognize in this moment, all of us need to come together…I’m here fighting for my grandson, my great grandson…and daughters,” DeForest Raphael said.
