came across someone laughing at the idea that "wearing glasses is a disability" and, of course, this person was not visually impaired, which means they do not need glasses to see/function in their everyday life, and don't have to pay money to be able to use their eyes.

i don't particularly care if "wearing glasses" is officially deemed a disability or not, but i would like for people to stop pretending that glasses are just a whimsical or nerdy fashion statement, rather than a literal aid for people with visual impairments.
