👱🏽‍♂️ Men are much more likely to say they have a good understanding of science than women 👩🏽 This is true for almost every country in the world 👀 #wmonitor

Surprisingly, the first 24h of zebrafish development, including germ layer formation and cell fate specification, doesn’t need polycomb repression Indicates substantial differences between vertebrates of when PcG function required dev.biologists.org/content/early/…

It has been an exciting and eventful week! Passing my PhD viva followed by our preprint which is available now on bioRxiv. We have used smFISH, MS2 live imaging and computational modelling to investigate how single cells decode the BMP gradient during Drosophila embryogenesis.

Exciting PhD opportunity with the up and coming PI of the moment Dr Guilherme Costa. If you are interested in RNA localisation, angiogenesis or ideally both then you should check out this fantastic opportunity: findaphd.com/phds/project/r…

Everything you wanted to know but were afraid to ask about the regulatory landscapes of developmental genes Poster from Christopher Chase Bolt & Denis Duboule dev.biologists.org/content/147/3/…

Latest preprint by Tom Minchington @samgriffjon decomposes gene regulation into simple motifs showing that dual feedback motifs (auto-regulatory TF+microRNA) are prevalent and thus could drive dynamic expression in many genes found in human. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Great talks so far at the #FameLab heats ....But a slight digression with the talk of 'fart maps' of festivals- any suggestions for applications of this idea ? 🤣 #scicomm

At the beginning of the lockdown, our postdoc Caroline Hoppe was named one of the winners of the #eBSDBimages competition that was part of the online #BSDBGenSoc2020 conference. We love that image, well done!

Excited to see that my first, first-author paper with @samgriffjon and Papalopulu Lab is now out! Do you work on dynamically expressed proteins? Probably. Check to see if your favourite transcriptional regulator features in our results. nature.com/articles/s4159…

I gave a talk on how #Celegans reaches the right #size at the online Cell Size and Growth seminar yesterday. A recording of it is available for two weeks. Big thanks to Jan Skotheim Matthew Swaffer and Mike Lanz for organizing this fantastic series!
