New data: The suicide risk for female physicians is 76% higher than the general population. Women in medicine need your support. We need reasonable workloads, adequate support, respect from colleagues, equitable pay, & work environments absent of discrimination & harassment.

Today is National Physician Suicide Awareness Day. - More than 400 physicians die by suicide each year in the US. - Suicide is the leading cause of death among resident physicians. - Med students are three times more likely to die by suicide than their peers in other fields.
