Over the 12-year period to 2022, Public Health Wales reported an increase of almost 60,000 people with diabetes - a 40% rise. “If current trends continue,” PHW warned recently, “by 2035/36 we estimate that around 1 in 11 adults will be living with diabetes in Wales.”
