Nice to find 2 Garganey this afternoon at Willington Wetlands, an adult female and a juvenile bird. One eventually showed fairly well. A long awaited county tick and 194 in my Derbys list, edging closer to the magical 200… Derbyshire Ornithological Society (DOS)

No Glossy Ibis for me Carsington Water this morning despite a couple of hours searching around Sheepwash. A smart juvenile Ruff was some compensation as was a Great Egret, 2 Pintail, Yellow-Legged Gull and a likely Caspian Gull Derbyshire Ornithological Society (DOS) Derbyshire Wildlife Trust

Awful video of a very good patch bird - an Osprey circled #lockopark for a few minutes this afternoon before heading SW (the 2nd of the year). Probably unable to fish in the lake thanks to a near blanket covering of Greylag & Canada Geese! 🤣 Derbyshire Ornithological Society (DOS) Derbyshire Wildlife Trust

One of two 1W Caspian Gulls at Derby River Gardens this morning. Quite amusing to meet Neil who found the first, then finding another nearby. Very smart birds and not what you’d necessarily expect in the city centre! Derbyshire Ornithological Society (DOS)

A bit different from Arran but a lovely visit to #lockopark this morning - no Golden Eagles but a pair of Red Kite, 14 Buzzard and a young Peregrine battling the crows to keep hold of its prey! Pair of Stonechat, 20+ Skylark, 8 Yellowhammer & 16 Meadow Pipit Derbyshire Ornithological Society (DOS)
