A little twist today on the usual Brightwater Bay trip: the kids get a lesson in boater safety while fishing on the water. Big thanks to community members Ricky Runk and Dave Platt for sharing their time and knowledge with the boys today!

Congrats to our first-ever Club tournament champion Ethan Thompson! (Left) He caught a 5-fish limit with 71.5 total inches. 2nd place went to Anthony Scott (center) with 5 fish and 67.5 total inches. Big Thor Chlumsky (Right) won the Big Bass with a 19” / 3.5# largemouth. 🎣🎣

Choo choo!! The Derby HS Graduation Train 2025 is on the tracks, and the first stop is for the super fabulous Carsen Carpenter! She has earned a softball scholarship to Cowley College, just the first stop on what will surely be a wonderful journey! Congrats Carsen!!

A quick s/o to the Derby Softball Seniors on Senior Day. I’ve had a lot of senior athletes in my time at DHS, but this is 1st time I’ve had the whole senior group from one team. And what a group! Smart, talented, motivated, and outgoing. I’ve been blessed to have them in class!

The DerbyHSFishing Club is out at Brightwater Bay on this beautiful sunny breezy KS evening. We appreciate our partnership with a local company who allows us access to such a wonderful venue! You should check it out sometime!
