When oppressors try to use their individual stories about an isolated misfortune to silence the anger of an entire oppressed group, you shut them up. It is one of the many manipulative ways they use to denigrate and undermine the realities of the oppressed.

Here’s an article that helps explain what decolonization means. If our institutions are serious about anti-racism, there must be the space for dialogue for health and human rights for Palestinians, including liberation from illegal occupation. Link: ubyssey.ca/opinion/teachi…

Decades after passing Pay Equity Act, our fight to actualize pay equity, especially in women-dominated professions, is nowhere near done. This is gender-based discrimination! It’s time for the govt to step up and PAY midwives what they’re worth. FOR STARTERS! #midwives #ONpoli

Every single day I sake my head at the flawed decisions and actions of the Ford government. This makes no sense- none whatsoever 👎 #onpoli. Public services should be public!

Almost every protest in Toronto passes by the hospitals because Queen’s Park and the US Consulate are on University Ave , pro-choice demos, union protests, anti/war protests, anti-racist protests have all gone down university by the hospitals. All of them have back entrances.

They threatened organizers with a $10k fine for having people on the moving sound truck when this happens all the time at Pride Toronto, the Caribana festival and more! At the first two intersections we crossed on the march I counted more than 110 cops. Defund and Abolish TPS!

"I have a right to object to my taxes being spent on a genocide." Oscar-winning American actress Susan Sarandon joined Palestine solidarity activists at the US Capitol to lobby Congress for a ceasefire in Gaza ⤵️

Four months and 30,000+ deaths later, it’s worth taking another look at Sarah Jama’s “controversial” statement from Oct 10. Canada has since jointly called for a humanitarian ceasefire and Israel is being investigated by CIJ_ICJ for plausible genocide and illegal occupation

Happening now: Parliamentary debate has begun on the NDP Opposition Day motion on Palestine, ahead of a vote later today. Will MPs vote YES for a ceasefire and an arms embargo on Israel, among other measures? Or will Canada fail to meet the urgency of this moment?

Important speech from Liberal MP Salma Zahid in support of the NDP’s Palestine motion ends with a powerful plea to the government: “But motions themselves are not enough. Canadians are demanding action; only the government can act.”

This feels racist. Making the oath optional has been a consistent request from Indigenous MPs, as well as refugees and those originally from other countries, and anyone who doesn't want to swear an oath to the unelected monarchy of a foreign country and colonial power.

War crimes by the Israeli government are ongoing. These crimes must be investigated and all aid and trade with Israel must be suspended.

Beyond disappointed to see this wrong headed ONDP decision. It’s a case of how once again we are eating ourselves rather than focusing on the issues at stake and building our movement with diverse voices. Sigh 😞 cbc.ca/news/canada/ha…

Organizing works! This is a win for public pressure, and a message about the moral clarity Canadians want from politics right now.  Now we need legislation to ban all Canadian companies from contracting with ICE or otherwise supporting Trump's kidnapping and deportation machine.
