I woke up this morning and almost spit out my coffee... I was shocked that Nadia Surani, Ontario Ministry of Health official had the audacity to put these thoughts in a formal request...and was actually serious.. My wife and my dad are both primary care docs. A 🧵 cbc.ca/news/canada/to… 1/

It's shocking that children's hospitals are so overwhelmed that they’re having to cancel surgeries. That pediatric surgeons are so worried that they’re saying some children "won't make it"…and still, the Ontario government won't even admit that we are in a healthcare crisis?

If your employer hasn't increased your pay by at least 16% since the beginning of 2020, you got a pay cut. If you got a 17% raise, it's really a 1% raise at this point.

.Doug Ford I think my wife and RN’s across the province are worth a lot more than a 1% raise. Here she is ready to walk to work in this blizzard knowing she may be forced to be there more than the scheduled 12 hours of her shift…

Is it just me or do others feel like Ontario just wiped out virtual care and replaced it with allowing pharmacists to prescribe medications for “13 common ailments”?

Most OR days end at 3:30 pm, Doug Ford No need to pay to build new infrastructure, when your current operating rooms are under-utilized—only used 40 hours a week—help us get staffing to extend the length of the OR day, to eliminate the waitlist

So let me get this straight: The City of Toronto has enough resources to add an extra $50 million to the police budget but doesn’t have enough resources to keep warming centres open 24/7 so that unhoused people don’t suffer & freeze to death? So cruel.

6. Take into consideration that family docs run small businesses but can't raise their prices, ever. I pay for my bandaids, internet, desks, rent, syringes, staff, EVERYTHING. And it all has to come out of my OHIP money which doesn't change with cost of living.

BREAKING: The City of Toronto has officially voted against implementing 24/7 warming centres to protect unhoused people from suffering & freezing to death. The way this city treats unhoused people is just disgusting.

I honestly don't understand how politicians with warmth and cozy homes get to decide whether or not to open warming centers for people experiencing homelessness. I don't understand how they vote NO to 24/7 warming centres while they keep warm in their homes. This is pure evil.

Public ORs are fully operational only 40h a week. As I explain in this clip, let's better utilize the public OR resources we already have. cp24.com/video?clipId=2…

The next time the Premier & MoH speak, I'd love an answer to this: Gov't funding to extend OR hrs allowed existing staff to perform 67K extra surgeries since Aug'21 returning waitlists to pre-COVID levels. Why create a parallel private system if funding extended OR hrs works?

An Ontario hospital to lay off nurses due to cuts in funding, while Doug Ford diverts public healthcare money to sponsor his privatization agenda. This should be all over the media. How do you lay off nurses amidst a dire nursing shortage? Doug Ford #onpoli
