Today, the Class 40 Preservation Society held their ‘Members Day’ for 2023… with CFPS own D345 and the Class Forty Appeal’s 40012 ‘Aureol’ performing in various combinations on an additional diagram. 50015 ‘Valiant’ was also in operation on the normal Diesel Service.

After a full restoration & repaint into BR Blue this was RSG's 1st public run back on the 1st Sept 2006 exploding with the Rail version of Drag racing. 😅🔥💨🚂 ⭐️🎅Deltic Gifts ⬇️🏞🚂 railwayartprintshop.etsy.com/uk/listing/112…

I had cause to celebrate this today. The culmination of 27 years of effort by Deltic Preservation. Restoring the Voice of God to this great old machine. ‘Goliath was not a giant bullock; he was a racehorse.’

A major milestone was achieved over the weekend with the ongoing repairs to get 40 135 back in good health. The power unit has been removed ready for the next stage of having the crankshaft swapped. Thanks to the CFPS volunteers and the ELR for all the hard work.
