My good friend Terry Mann captured this wonderful image of auroral colors on May 10, including the Mackinaw Bridge in Northern Michigan on the horizon. Just a stunning shot.

Jamie Cooper shot this great video of the aurora that was visible so prominently on May 10, from Northamptonshire, UK. Enjoy!

Chris Cook snapped a great image of the 100-inch Hooker Telescope at Mt. Wilson. Here in 1923 Edwin Hubble unlocked the cosmic distance scale and the nature of galaxies.

If I met your good friend Dr. Brian May of Queen at ✰Starmus Festival one day, wonder what we would talk about. Maybe we would discuss the intersection of music and astronomy. I might also ask him about his favorite reads, and his most cherished moment with Freddie Mercury.

This is a great shot: Chris Schur captured Comet C/2021 S3 PANSTARRS as it cruised across the Propeller Nebula, DWB 111, in Cygnus. The capture came on May 2 when the comet shone at 10th magnitude.

I have been posting so many Starmus images — now catching up on astronomical images. Look at this great panorama shot by Adrian Bradley showing the auroral show on May 10. Wow!

Steven Chu was Barack Obama’s Secretary of Energy and is now professor at Stanford; he spoke at Starmus on how we can get to net-zero GHG emissions.

On Day 1 of the Starmus talks, Katharine Hayhoe leads off a big day of discussing climate change and where we are for the future of life on Planet Earth.

You really had to see the finale of the Jean-Michel Jarre and Brian May Starmus opening concert to believe it. I hadn’t seen so many fireworks at once since Trump was indicted.
