We fully support Lydia coming forward with her story. It is extremely disheartening to know that we put young women out on the road with SWMRS who showcased a safe space but did not do that for their touring partners. Lydia, we stand with you and applaud you for coming forward.

We also encourage men who have worked alongside, may have themselves been involved in, or know themselves to have been abusive to come forward. Responsibility of your wrongdoings should not be placed on your victims. If you’re truly committed to changed, have those

conversations before your public reckoning. Reach out to those women, and do it because you’re ready to come to terms with your accountability not to save face. Reformative justice is about allowing victims the time and space to heal with the tools THEY need and to be respectful

of your part in their trauma, and your part in their healing. True change will only come when accountability is reached before the victim is required to put their trauma in the eyes of the public for scrutiny.
