Our Elfie, Mason, has been busy at work all over the City the past few weeks and created quite a bit of havoc for our staff! Wishing you Happy Holidays from the City of Mason Crew!

You know you are a City Manager when you get notice of kids snow day & immediately get defensive. “What do you mean roads aren’t safe?!… I have to check! It must be the temp cause roads look great!…nope! Oh, it must be the county roads in the district- surely not us…”😂 ❄️

Another addition to the City of Mason family arrived this week! Her pic isn’t for us to share but she is perfect, cuddling up with this blanket from us❤️ So happy to offer paid parental leave so her Dad gets to be there for this special time! #WholePerson

Never forget- I just finished “Three Sisters” an amazing historical novel based on the true story of three sisters that survived Auschwitz. Their story and so many more are worth reading and remembering. #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay

I struggle with this sometimes but it is worth working through the discomfort. Especially the example of... - My perspective about this is valid *and* so is theirs even though we disagree

Good ideas are not enough… Heard that MME conf and it stuck… Staff, elected official, residents need to accept that all our “good” ideas require working together, being open to the faults in those ideas & a willingness to compromise to actually implement them.

Proud to represent the City of Mason with the Mayor on this team last night. The energy and enthusiasm in that room was contagious! Great towns have great schools and we are lucky to have Mason Public Schools!

Great day at Capitol learning from @MMLeague the key policy issues impacting cities. Loved rights & responsibilities of citizens - vote, be informed, and voice opinions.

After a big snowfall, we see streets naturally reshape and become more complete as cars travel over them and snow builds up. These sneckdowns (or snowy neckdowns) and reveal how much extra space we cede to cars that could be redeveloped into cycling or pedestrian infrastructure.

Great night enjoying Vance Joy in Chicago! Just the mental break we needed from a heavy week in Michigan.

I love a good all employee In-Service and this one didn't disappoint as we focused on Solution Mindset. Special thanks to Fire and Police Chief for hosting a heated game of Family Feud where teams were tested on City knowledge!
