Tired: The schools really want CSC to work. We love rules and guardrails. Wired: Nebraska covering their players’ legal fees to take CSC to arbitration over rejected deals.

The next three weeks of U.S. college sports will be fascinating. 68 men’s basketball teams are going to miss class for up to three weeks to earn their schools collectively billions in revenue. Meanwhile, #NCAA advocates will cry “student-athlete,” poverty and existential crisis.

Don’t agree with everything said in here, but some good points are made. However, it ignores the biggest issues that needs to be addressed. 1. All sports aren’t the same. 2. The model advocated for is illegal.

Sorry to hear about the passing of longtime Venice High football coach Angelo Gasca, one of those larger-than-life presences and a foundational rock for an entire community. Coaches like Gasca never get enough credit and probably never know all the lives they impact.
