We are currently living in a bizarre universe where in some districts substitutes are in such a high demand that they are being paid $150-$250 a day… WHICH IS MORE THAN THE TEACHERS MAKE PER DAY IN THAT DISTRICT! PAY YOUR TEACHERS MORE $ AND YOU WON’T NEED AS MANY SUBS!

The primary school participated in the Kids Heart Challenge, a program designed to raise money for the American Heart Association. The students and families raised $5,416. On Thursday, students that raised the most money got to smash a pie in a teacher's face.

I will never understand why schools, teachers, and students are used as a political pawns. We are not the enemy. All teachers want to do is teach their students. Plain and simple. Empower schools rather than scapegoating them.

Teachers, don’t forget your “why?” You make a difference for kids and for each other!

Dear Parents and Guardians, Your child is not a political tool for us to use to get re-elected or fundraise. Please trust the people who have dedicated their lives to your child’s success: their teachers and school staff. And we are also not news pundits seeking ratings.

A coworker needed to blow off steam, so I sat and listened. It lead to more trust between the two of us!

Read today, students spend 13.7% of their lives in classrooms to learn each year, but schools are held responsible for 100% of their education. Schools can't carry the burden alone. We need active parents, community members, and organizations. We need EVERYONE working together.
