If I could make a small plea to fic writers: I honestly think falling in love with the *craft* of writing is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Fandoms die out, websites change, sometimes communities become toxic. Loving the act of writing keeps your sane.

Writing is an art and you will be so much happier if you try to view it that way. Things like grammar aren't arbitrary rules made up by English teachers, they're tools in the same way you use a paint brush or piece of charcoal. Knowing how and why these tools work only helps you.
