Much of the Northeast was hoping for rain from PTC Eight, but recent trends show high pressure will steer it out to sea through Delmarva. Coastal areas may get some rain, but interior sections will miss out. This may lead to abnormally dry conditions on the next drought monitor.

Outside of T.D. #Gordon, the #AtlanticBasin is quiet for now. However, around September 24-26, there is increasing support for development in the #Caribbean Sea, east of the #Yucatan Peninsula. It's too early for specifics, but something to watch for late September. #tropics

As #summer ends, another round of extreme #heat will hit the Southern #Plains. Highs in south-central #Oklahoma and north-central #Texas could reach 100°F from Thursday to Saturday. Thankfully, by Sunday, temps will drop to the low-to-mid 90s, with 80s returning early next week.
