PTC Eight off the #Carolinas is expected to become #TropicalStormHelene before landfall near Myrtle Beach later today. 1-3" of #rain across most of the Carolinas, with localized 4" totals, may cause #flooding in low-lying areas and the potential #flashflooding for some. #Helene

Much of the Northeast was hoping for rain from PTC Eight, but recent trends show high pressure will steer it out to sea through Delmarva. Coastal areas may get some rain, but interior sections will miss out. This may lead to abnormally dry conditions on the next drought monitor.
