J&J gets new benefit from public investment in bedaquiline. Its status as ‘essential drug’ was solidified. WHO EML: 1) endorsed use w/ pretomanid ; 2) removed age restrictions on its use. It’s time to stop depriving people of this essential med & drop all 2ary patents now.

Very surprised & impressed that Unitaid has come out *publicly* against MSF International closing the Access Campaign. UNITAID knows this is *really* bad, otherwise they wouldn't break the taboo of UN-backed agencies not commenting on the internal biz of other orgs. unitaid.org/assets/Open-le…

TB in children: MSF has been following gaps in policies and practices of countries for TB testing and treatment . As per WHO, 1.25 million children and young adolescents fall ill with TB each year, but only half of these children are diagnosed and treated. More to come soon.
