What is a reading, activity, lecture, etc that you are most excited about this semester? Or if you’re not teaching, would be excited to implement?? For me, it would be using a scenario building deck of cards called “STS tarot” in the futures lab.

Looking for a good reading for undergrads on “what is STS” - this is basically their first exposure. Also looking for good readings sts-ish concepts such as categorization, human/animal/nature interactions, and other topics that would be relevant for undergrad research topics.

Other relevant stuff would be related to bias, race/technology, feminist approaches, disability (will of course assign Ashley Shew is not here.’s work on technoableism!), and any other concepts you think would be important for undergrads to be exposed to as they embark on research projects.

Like many of us, I wasn’t formally trained in STS, and just picked things up piecemeal and as needed as I went along, so it’s hard for me to rattle stuff off when it’s not in the areas I’ve been working. Any help on undergrad-accessible STS-y readings would be appreciated!
