1. We are a republic, not off 'mainland UK'. 2. Nobody speaks 'gaelic; we play it. 3. A minority speak 'gaelige' but all news is in English, our main language. 4. What is wrong with you people? We are your nearest neighbour & biggest trading partner. x.com/RachelSJohnson…

I love Neymar. I don't know if I like him, but I love him. That flick at the end was fantastic. There's far too little of that kind of thing in football because players who can do it don't have the nerve. Thank god someone has.

Cycle tracks/greenways should be classed as critical pieces of national infrastructure and would then go directly to board pleanala for decision. This would greatly speed up decision making by avoiding most Cllrs who oppose bicycle infrastructure

"The equivalent of 1.2million plastic cups" - the number of election posters expected to be used in just one municipal district in #Dublin. This madness can't continue. We support the call for a ban on plastic election posters. Thanks for raising this issue! #LE19 #EP19

Do I have this correct? Dublin is trying to rearrange how it travels and it seems the city only has space for two of the following three: trees, buses, cars. And somehow this has been turned into "well, is it the buses or the trees that have to go?"

With the coronavirus edging ever closer towards Britain, I think the only sensible solution is to close all Premier League stadia (too many potential disease-spreaders in one place), cancel the remaining fixtures and declare the 2019-20 season abandoned, null and void.

At the end of all this, let’s try to remember that the geniuses who told us not to worry about coronavirus are the same geniuses telling us not to worry about #climatechange

In #Belarus, the state TV is showing visibly terrified detained protesters. They were probably beaten up before their public promises to no longer take part in anti-Lukashenka #protests. This is happening in #Europe in 2020. Just terrible.

I asked the Minister for Finance & Public Expenditure & Reform to meet me to discuss possible tax reliefs for homeowners affected by shoddy building practices. Here is his short and very disappointing response: #NotGoodEnough
