Senior Adviser on Gender Lara Scarpitta and Special Rep on Youth Maria Raczyńska met Ministry of Foreign Affairs 🇵🇱,UNHCR Polska,ICRC and NGOs to discuss the situation of 🇺🇦 refugees. 🇵🇱 remains the main country of arrival for refugees from 🇺🇦 since the 🇷🇺 invasion. 94% are women and children.

Visited the reception point of #Przemysl train station on the border with 🇺🇦 where they are still receiving hundreds of mothers & kids escaping the war. Most are traumatised, Needs are huge and more support is needed! #Women and #children are paying a heavy prize

Impressed by the effort of UNHCR Polska as well as local authorities & NGOs to provide support and safe spaces for the most vulnerable refugees from 🇺🇦. Women and girls are at high risk of #GBV and #THB. Their protection is a key priority for OSCE. Poland in the OSCE

I spend the last 3 days in Poland to assess the situation of 🇺🇦 refugees. Deeply impressed by the incredible effort by Polish authorities & NGOs to provide support.Grateful to Poland in the OSCE for this trip & for focussing on the needs of women & girls #genderequality #GBV #THB

With the war, many 🇺🇦 women lost income & livelihood. Digitalisation can help them with new employment options. To address the #gender digital gap & support #women economic empowerment the #OSCE Gender team launched the 1st expert roundtable to find long-term solutions.

Great to see that the discussion on women's leadership in the digital world at the OSCE Mediterranean Conference was a huge success, not at least thanks to the effective moderation by Lara Scarpitta, the never resting head of the Gender Issues Programme #winforgenderequality
