Ed Miliband has approved a number of mass-scale solar panels on UK farmland despite huge local community objections. Solar panels shouldn’t be used on fields that are cultivated for our food growing. Instead, put them on brownfields, car parks, roofs and roads.

Remember when we started our campaign to stop them closing RAF Scampton and to retain the site purely as a living working museum only!

We have written to Sir Edward Leigh MP asking how much money has already been spent on a site that could have be retained in the first place, and which contractors have benefitted from this...

What a pity you and others were not willing to support the original Save/PreserveScampton e: [email protected] campaign which wanted to turn it into a heritage not for profit site purely a historic living working one ...

What about the £60M spent so far, that could have been used to convert it into a historic site of importance and as living working museum instead of being sold off no doubt for a pittance for commercial use.

We shall follow the development of the site in the future and see if it really does get a good rejuvenation or end up mostly with housing development!
