The global TB funding gap, the difference between funds needed for TB prevention, diagnosis, & treatment & funds available. In 2023 TB prevention, diagnosis, treatment & care was underfunded by $16,3 billion. In 2023 funding needed for TB research was underfunded by $4 billion.

A recent study conducted by South African Tuberculosis Vaccine Initiative found that more than 50% of confirmed TB cases were asymptomatic and Chest X-ray screening missed more than 40% if asymptomatic cases. It appears on the medRxiv preprint server. medrxiv.org/content/10.110…
