I was grateful to join my friend Erin M. Elmore, Esq. for the unveiling of the newest addition to Art in Embassies.   The painting, “Another Chance” by Ola Rondiak, is a testament to Ukrainians’ resilience. A joy to meet Ola’s daughter, Maya, who delivered this beautiful gift.

I joined many friends and colleagues at the White House Friday night to celebrate President Biden, the First Lady, and the incredible accomplishments made over the past four years. Grateful for the opportunity to serve my country as part of this truly historic administration.

Today, I was honored to administer the oath of office to new appointees to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council.     The Council is integral to the US Holocaust Museum’s work in teaching millions of people each year about the dangers of unchecked hatred.

I was sad to learn of Friedrich St. Florian’s recent passing. Friedrich taught architecture at @RISD for over 50 years and was well-known for designing the National World War II memorial in DC. I feel fortunate to see his work every time I pull into our driveway in Saunderstown.
