On March 23, 2010, the Affordable Care Act was signed into law.

Since then, it has been the most consequential health care legislation passed in generations in our country, delivering high-quality, affordable health care to 40 million Americans.

Fourteen years ago today, I signed the Affordable Care Act into law.

Afterwards, one Republican member of the House called the ACA the “most dangerous piece of legislation ever passed in Congress.” Another predicted the country would “never recover from it.”

But then something…

This anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, it remains a big deal. Tens of millions of people have access to life-saving health coverage. 

We cannot let extreme Republicans take away the security that the ACA must continue to provide.

Looking forward to a watermelon/vanilla in a few weeks to kickoff the 50th year of our beloved Mr. Lemon!
