Bercow has destroyed the institution of Speaker. He goes the way he operated: with partisanship, sentimentality and a billion words where one would do.

So I'm guessing all of the people who were out protesting last week about how our democracy has died will be back out there again tomorrow protesting about the death of privacy and our human rights?

Question: will Boris now appeal the supreme court's decision and take it to the European Court of Justice?#ProrogationCase

So Corbyn thinks that: A) Boris should consider his position as Prime Minister and B) There shouldn't be a general election right now. I don't think the majority of the country are going to get on board with that

I cannot believe this video is not a parody. This was the first thing that sprung to mind when I saw this.... youtube.com/watch?v=3mBkZ2…

The leaked documents obtained by The Labour Party about UK-US trade talks are a fascinating insight into these exploratory talks. But do they contain any smoking guns about plans to privatise the NHS or put it "on the table"? Not as far as I can detect at a first skim...

The claims that the NHS is being sold off to Trump, or that 50,000 nurses will be hired are throwing British politics into further disrepute. If people are claiming we should have a 2nd Brexit referendum because people were mis-led the same will apply here whatever the outcome

I have now been sent the Labour dossier on their claim to save the average household £6,700. Even by the standards of modern politics, it is impossible to stress how bloody shoddy these numbers are and how quickly they fall apart. Thread follows, with occasional swearing.

"0% Labour" is trending - sums up this election that people are claiming no Labour campaign ads were mis-leading when that itself is mis-leading. A study showed over 4 DAYS no PAID Labour ads were mis-leading while 88% were for the Tories. Full story: google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.…

Last night while making my final decision on who I am going to vote for I chose to write down my thoughts to try and make them a bit clearer. I have turned them into a blog in case anyone is interested in reading them. Happy #ElectionDay electionsurvivalguide.wordpress.com/2019/12/11/the…

Sir Roger Scruton has died. What to say. He was the most significant conservative thinker of our time. His writing was drily funny; every page was dense with perspective and meaning. He risked his own freedom to help people living under communism. His life was energetically

Can someone explain to me how the following rules aren't contradictory: 1. You can sit in a park as long as you stay 2 metres away from others 2. You can only meet one person from another household outdoors as long as you stay 2 metres from eachother

I've attempted to synthesise some of the literature on assessment and progression in history (e.g pupils encountering substantive concepts through a coherent curriculum). I hope that the links to blogs, threads & diagrams (below is Christine Counsell) are useful. historyteachermusings.wordpress.com/2020/07/23/ass…

This made me laugh on R4 just now: when people were asked what is England’s 2nd city, in Manchester they said “Manchester”, in Birmingham they said “Birmingham” and in Liverpool they said “London”
