This Bill undermines the presumption of innocence for welfare recipients, they will be suspects by default. It creates new conditions for support: sacrifice your right to privacy & expose yourself to the cruel sanction of losing your drivers licence. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

On Workers' Memorial Day, we remember all those who have lost their lives to work-related illness or injury. Key to keeping people safe at work is a strong, organised union in every workplace. Remember the dead, fight for the living! #IWMD25

Proud to chair the parliamentary committee driving forward the new hunting ban. Trail hunting is hunting in disguise and it's time it ends for good. I fully support this step toward real protection for our wildlife.

There are 275,000 PIP recipients in Wales, more than 14% of working age people. These cuts will hit us disproportionately hard and vulnerable people will be put at risk. The people of Wales did not vote for more austerity.

I have signed this letter calling for the government to rethink its stance on disability benefits because I think the current plans are wrong. We need to be listening to people's concerns and I hope things will begin to change. theguardian.com/politics/2025/…

Recent election results must be a wake-up call. Winter fuel cuts, two-child cap, WASPI injustice and slashing disability support is not the change people voted for. More of the same won't cut it. We need a new path based on fairness, social justice and dignity for all.

The last Government broke our welfare state. Piling further cuts onto a system that already forces disabled people into destitution won't fix it. We need to pause: withdraw the cuts, speak with disabled people and redesign the system with their consent.

Dorset NHS Trusts plan to move estates & housekeeping staff into a new ā€œSubCoā€, taking them out of NHS employment. This risky move could erode staff conditions & create a two-tier workforce. I’m meeting unions regularly & raising this with the Chief Exec at UHD. #NoToSubCo

The Government promises the damage from its disability support cuts will be offset by new employment plans - but won't publish evidence before the vote. Over 3 million families will be affected, some losing £12,000 a year. MPs are being asked to vote blind on people's lives.

It was great to meet representatives from Animal Free Research UK recently to learn more about the UK's transition towards animal-free alternatives in laboratories.

The developer-led model fuels conflict between housing and nature, as councils are forced to accept ill-suited sites. It's time to smash this broken model. Let's put councils back in the driver’s seat, with the powers to deliver affordable, sustainable homes in the right place.

I joined Surfers Against Sewage on Kite Beach today. We’re sick of water companies hiking bills whilst pumping our waters with waste. The Government has made positive steps to hold water bosses accountable. We need public ownership of water to put a stop to this racket.

UK pensioners who retired abroad have been overlooked for decades. Now, more than 440,000 retirees could miss out on vital income due to the government's unjust policy. MPs must stand up for fairness - dignity in retirement should apply to all. express.co.uk/finance/person…

ā€œWe’re looking at 400,000 people being pushed into poverty because of these cuts, including hundreds of thousands of children.ā€ Neil Duncan-Jordan MP on welfare cuts on BBC Radio 4 Today labouroutlook.org/2025/05/21/peo…

Proposed disability support cuts will hit 3 million people. We must pause: withdraw the cuts, consult disabled people, & redesign the system with their consent. There's no need for cuts - taxing the wealthiest is the way forward, not slashing support for the most vulnerable.

The first duty of every Labour Government is to support the most vulnerable. Our welfare system is meant to be a safety net - there for all of us when we need it. I'll fight tooth and nail for our welfare state. Solidarity with disabled people against cuts.

Freezing pensions for overseas pensioners has pushed 500,000 into financial insecurity. The Government must act to support pensioners, WASPI women and disabled people. We need to rethink welfare and pensions to ensure a decent standard of living for all.

It is dystopian that women are facing criminal investigations for seeking medical care at the most desperate moments of their lives. This has got to end. That’s why I tabled NC1 - it’s time for Parliament to support this changešŸ‘‡ BPAS stylist.co.uk/news/politics/…

We were elected to put our arm around the country - not to impose the deepest cuts since George Osborne. These swingeing cuts won’t create jobs - they’ll create poverty. It’s time to pause: withdraw the cuts and work with disabled people to redesign the welfare system.
