pīwakawaka - NZ fantail

A very rare Hihi or Stitchbird today at the fully enclosed sanctuary area of Bushy Park Tarapuruhi near Whanganui. Worth visiting if you ever get the chance. Only got a few photos of these and the tīeke Saddlebacks as most of the time you just want to watch them dart around you.

kererū or wood pidgeon. They don’t so much fly as throw themselves at vague target areas.
