Quick comment on disorder in AF2. I wouldn't put too much stock in the global/long-range orientation of IDRs in AF2-generated structures. The apparently 'spherical' or caged structures we're seeing are - I suspect - a consequence of frustrated energy minimization. (1/7)

Thoroughly enjoyed this one, an incredible amount of information packed in here. Makes me really want to tackle the problem of explaining the IDR interactions of the tail.

An elegant demonstration of ectopic gene activation by "pioneer" and "non-pioneer" TFs alike. In vivo PF studies *need* to account for exp level like this given that pioneer activity will matter at the margins of effective TF conc. Congrats to the authors! elifesciences.org/articles/73358

“A day in the library could save you a year in the lab.” Easily the most important lesson my own advisor taught me, that as tempting as experiments may be on any given day, there is no substitute for thought, understanding, and context.

I’M WONDERING WHEN WE WILL STOP SEEING OURSELVES AS HAVING JUST ONE COMPLETE GENOME BUT INSTEAD HAVING A COLLECTION OF GENOMES WHERE EVERYONE’S DIFFERENCES ARE REPRESENTED.

Massive news: eLife to abolish accept/reject decisions: papers will just be “peer reviewed”. Others can argue about this, but lots of interesting consequences. 1/9 elifesciences.org/articles/83889
