Irish pols are obsessed with debating issues over which they have no control. Imagine if South Dublin's 40 Cllrs had spent this time helping renovate a single house, or paint graffiti off a wall. I mean, when was South Dub County Council planning to introduce apartheid anyway?

Lots of serious articles about how different countries face tough challenges from Trump, not least in his unpredictability. Silly to think of the UK as special in any regard towards the US right now. And while all will inevitably talk, we're also all on our own to find solutions.

Yesterday Trump announced he's nominating Pete Hegseth as his Secretary of Defense. Hegseth's a prominent Fox News personality & veterans advocate, but he also has strong ties to the Christian far right that I've not seen fully exposed yet. Here's a thread w/ receipts... 1/

Hope it's wrong, but I'm hearing through the grapevine about this bonkers plan: Trump would adjourn both Houses of Congress under Article II, section 3, and then recess-appoint his Cabinet.

Or Strasbourg. Not much bigger than Cork. Which has six tram lines. One of which crosses an international border. Meanwhile we can barely get our trams to cross the northside🙄 It's great that the Finglas Luas is finally progressing. But it's not nearly enough.
