I try not to fly with checked bags through PHL but had to today. It was literally 80 minutes between when I walked up to the baggage claim and when my priority bag came out. I wish americanair employees valued their customer time better.

The mid-Atlantic #synbio community has gotten so strong, in part to efforts like #MASBN, sponsored by U.S. National Science Foundation. It won’t be long until this region is a Boston or Bay Area synbio hub. Thanks to Aditya Kunjapur and the rest of the organizing team for a fantastic conference.

All my life I have studied democratization and autocratization. My 1st field trip was to newly democratic Argentina. I then added autocracies to my portfolio: Cuba, Ven, etc. I think I can recognize the stages of transition to authoritarianism. Here are the boxes checked off.
