Our most #ColourfulArchives are definitely our HIV/AIDS collections. Many countries used eye catching colours on badges and posters when raising awareness of preventative measures which should be taken. #Archive30

In 1916 the Shakespeare Hut opened on the grounds of what is now LSHTM’s Keppel Street site. It was a YMCA hut created as a 'home away from home' for Anzac soldiers to rest, recover and be entertained when they were on leave during WWI. #ArchiveBuildings #Archive30

Our #SomethingBig and very heavy is this MADAS calculator. MADAS is derived from the initial letters of Multiplication, Automatic Division, Addition, & Subtraction. This one was used by Professor Jenny Roberts and we believe dates from 1950s-60s. #Archive30

Where would we be without conservators? For starters we wouldn’t have these wonderful custom-made storage boxes to keep Sir Patrick Manson’s mosquito box and Sir Ronald Ross’s set of malarial blood slides safe! #ConservationWin #Archive30

Fantastic to see the Library bustling with Research Degree students showing off posters about the incredible projects they’ve been doing - clearly the culmination of some very passionate & dedicated work. Well done to everyone who has submitted an entry to this and good luck 🤞

Our #SomethingSmall is this disease carrying snail, shown here in the LSHTM Snail Laboratory in 1951 by Professor J.J.C. Buckley to a group of students. Behind him you can see small aquariums full of snails which were used for research. 🐌🔍 #Archive30

LSHTM specialises in the research of public health and tropical medicine, so #HealthArchives are our favourite kind of archives! Here's a 1947 photograph of Miss Wall nurturing mosquito larvae in the insectary by feeding them crumbled dog biscuits. #Archive30

Our staff and student photographs are definitely a #PopularItem. From 1901 until the 1930s, a class photograph was taken during each new session. The images show the changing demographics within the School. #Archive30

We've really enjoyed taking part in this years #Archive30! The final theme is #WhyArchives. We think that ensuring LSHTM's story and the history of public health is remembered is one of the most rewarding parts of our job ♥️
