At the end of a long term it is easy to feel despondent. Once the relief of getting to the holidays is gone, it can often be a time of feeling a bit low. In fact, that feeling can often come towards the end of term. Did I do enough? Am I good enough? 1/n

Just trying to get a Spotify playlist together in terms of 'listening while reading'. Ideally this would be beautiful music with limited lyrics and no catchy tune. Recommendations would be most appreciated!

Just devoured the MASSOLIT lecture on 'Things Fall Apart' this evening. Even with a Kenyan power cut mid-way through, it was highly thought-proking, concise and perceptive. What a gift to a teacher who is embarking on a new text for the first time...

Calling Team English A plea for anyone who has 'Things Fall Apart' exemplars. I've LOVED teaching it this term, but now at the point we want to share best practice with the students and Edexcel has few examples. Happy to reciprocate with resources. RT appreciated.

Responding to engteacherabroad's challenge...Here is something I'm trialing, mixing WCF with modelling - especially for lower ability students. I'm also trying a granular approach to essay writing, as inspired by Elaine Link to whole document here turimail.sharepoint.com/:w:/s/Secondar…

The last book I devoured and adored was 'The Heart's Invisible Furies'. Hit me with your recommendations for my 2 day much-needed escape from both school and my children! I want a good page turner.

Effects on the reader vocab - experimented last week: 1. Live model - I did some and they did some in pairs. 2. Independent application to a different question. 3. Those aiming higher embedded more sophisticated vocabulary. 4. Self-reflection. They gave it a good go.✔️🙌🏻
