Dear Readers, The magnitude of misinformation spreading in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic is overwhelming our small team. We’re seeing scores of people, in a rush to find any comfort, make things worse as they share (sometimes dangerous) misinformation.

Wait, I’m confused. At UF: -We can’t require vaccines -No indoor mask mandate (Just “expected”) -Classes and work must be mostly in-person Doesn’t one of these things have to give as cases in Florida surge and hospitals continue to be overwhelmed due to the Delta variant?

Anyone unconvinced that 2020 was the year data journalism took over? Check the The New York Times native app. The NYT Graphics COVID tracker is now a first class button, ranking above all other sections.

We’re back from vacation and this morning when my daughter and I were making breakfast a cockroach poured into her cereal bowl along with her Cheerios. It crawled around on the table while we screamed and I killed it. Welcome back to us 😌
