Unions have applied to axe burger chain Grill'd's expired agreement covering 4300 workers across 149 stores, which would restore full weekend penalty rates for the first time in years. afr.com/work-and-caree…

I thank the Prime Minister for appointing me as Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations and am honoured to continue to serve in an Albanese Labor Cabinet. Ministers Burke and Watt have made an outstanding contribution in this role in our first term of Government.

Regardless of who wins the Liberal leadership today, the Liberal-National Coalition will always be the party of lower wages, higher taxes, and fewer workplace rights.

Unlike a Liberal-National government, which oversaw a decade of wages going backwards, we will always stand up for better pay and fairer working conditions.

Grill’d doesn’t really serve just burgers anymore. These days, they’re dishing up undercooked workplace agreements, with a side of dodgy deals that leave workers worse off.

I’m so proud that the SDA in South Australia has secured over $5.5 million for some incredible and hardworking regional South Aussies. Four years ago we commenced legal action, because we wanted wage justice for these workers. And we never gave up. abc.net.au/news/2025-07-0…
