Staff Office of Transportation & Infrastructure Systems was very clear at the meeting that Option 2 would be safer. Especially in light of recent tragedy in the portion of Washington Ave that was watered down by Councilman KJ, I’m optimistic Councilmember Jamie Gauthier has the courage to make crashes on 48th/47th less likely.

Staff <a href="/PhillyOTIS/">Office of Transportation & Infrastructure Systems</a> was very clear at the meeting that Option 2 would be safer.

My two cents: Make improvemts with EVERY paving project. We’re not rich enough for the luxury to spend money on milling, paving, striping, and ADA curb cuts… and basically end up with the status quo roadway operation!

Can’t say if it has/will contribute to rent inflation, but can absolutely confirm projects(s) with 100s of units in our neighborhood have stalled due to interest rates for construction loans.

Bingo. The current system is NOT serious. Make safety improvements part of every Streets Department project/program, not just dedicated VisionZero initiatives by OTIS. Stop using “outreach” as a way to slowly kill projects. Take away the veto pens everybody has. Get to YES.
