In two days the govt have cancelled the Rwanda scheme, confirmed rail nationalisation, told Netanyahu they support a ceasefire + statehood, appointed a prison reformer prisons minister and a pro-Palestine activist AG. And the left is desperate to chalk it up as a defeat

In the three days it has taken to come up with this list: - the onshore wind ban has already been lifted; - the new health secretary has already begun talks with the BMA; - the new Green MP for Waveney Valley has come out against net zero infrastructure.

Labour won over 400 seats in the General Election, including in many areas with a high Muslim population. Just recently Keir Starmer has called for a ceasefire in Gaza, is looking into restoring funding to UNRWA and has dropped the challenge to the ICC. As a party, we do

Last week we had a great time on our Access Into Medicine (AIM) course! 60 Year 11 and 12 pupils from local schools came to find out more about careers in medicine and healthcare professions. They got to speak to our doctors and nurses, and got hands-on BLS and clinical skills!

We’re having a great time at #ASME2024!! This is a huge UK wide conference all about #meded. It’s been great to learn from & network with so many colleagues! We are making no fewer than TWELVE presentations this year - read about them below 👇 Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust @MY_LenRichards

I’ve really enjoyed receiving hundreds of messages from local residents since 4th July, but can I remind them, including Ms Truss, that should they wish for their Member of Parliament for South West Norfolk to be aware of their views, they need to go through the office

The absolute essence of Corbynism - being a nuisance, not doing the hard work of governing. It's quintessential comfort zone politics. Choosing powerlessness means never having to compromise. It's the ultimate self-indulgence.

I’ll just say: Endorsement as a stepmom from your partner’s ex is possibly… the hardest endorsement in the whole damn world.

Will await full details from BMA, but if details here are correct, achieving 20% out of the initial aim of 35% is damn good progress. Please for fucks sake stop talking about what PAs earn and can we have the good sense to see this is the best offer any doctor’s group has got.

Having had a look at the pay offer and the table breaking down what it will mean in take home pay… Is it ideal? No. We would love to get the 35% + exam fees etc. Looking at the country’s finance and rest of public sector is it realistically pretty good? Yes. I’d take it.

So a fair amount of discussion here. A few additional thoughts about the junior doctor pay offer: 1. FPR was never, ever going to be achievable in a single pay offer. If you ever believed that, then you’re a fucking idiot.

James Steen (@bma_james_steen) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This offer is not FPR, but it’s also not instead of it. The question it poses is one of strategy on how best to secure FPR: Accept, bank these initial gains, use the next 9 months to reorganise and win back doctors lost to strike fatigue. OR Reject, and carry on as we are.

Also I'm sorry but I'm officially over this 'they're just unhappy citizens who've been ignored for too long'. No, they're the kind of men who do a tonne of gak at the football and then come home and hit their partners. They don't care about politics, they're just plain thugs.

We have to be clear what people are now demanding. Not the right to free speech. But the right to lie. The right to spread malicious information that could impede an ongoing murder investigation. The right to incite people to riot. And they should just admit it.
