Join Waterfront Alliance to support a flood risk "right to know" bill for #homebuyers in the New York State Assembly! Urge your local Assemblymember to pass this bill by signing-on to a joint Action Alert with EDF & #Rise2Resilience Coalition: bit.ly/nysflood

Tomorrow, this bill is FINALLY making it to a Judiciary Committee hearing — the first, but critical, step in the process of passing. Take 2 minutes of your time to sign this action alert urging your local rep to vote in support of flood risk disclosure! #Rise2Resilience

In NYS, property sellers can pay a fee & avoid sharing info about a property’s flood risk & flood damage with the prospective homebuyer. A bill that addresses this is in the NY Assembly right now. Reach out to your reps & ask that they pass it here: act.edf.org/4mz9zkh?contac…

As early as next Tuesday, the New York Assembly has an opportunity to pass a major flood risk right-to-know bill. Encourage your Assembly Member to vote "YES" by sending a letter in the Action Alert below. Shoutout to Assemblymember Robert Carroll for his leadership! #Rise2Resilience

The NY Assembly just voted 105-38 to pass a bill that would give home buyers a right to know a property's flood history.  The NY Senate must follow the Assembly's lead and make this a reality for New Yorkers. Congratulations to AM Carroll.

Right on time for the start of Atlantic hurricane season! With Assemblymember Robert Carroll's continued leadership, flood disclosure passed with a 105-38 vote today. Only one step away from Governor Kathy Hochul's signature: the NY State Senate. #Rise2Resilience

New York gets a failing grade for the amount of flood risk information that must be disclosed to homebuyer. But the state could get an "A"...if the State Senate passes this bill for the third year in a row. via Times Union Joel Scata Michael Gerrard timesunion.com/opinion/articl…

Kudos @JoelScataNRDC and Michael Gerrard for a great piece! Thank you Assemblymember Robert Carroll for leading this bill to victory in the Assembly. Now, we must pass @BradHoylman's companion bill in the State Senate. It's time to guarantee a flood risk right-to-know for every New Yorker!

NRDC has updated its scorecard of state flood disclosure laws. New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Hawaii have all enacted — or started the ball rolling on — disclosure reforms. nrdc.org/bio/joel-scata…
