On Saturday, April 20th the Assembly and State Senate passed the 2024-2025 New York State Budget. Though it was not perfect, there were many major wins for Brooklyn and our State. I will keep working in the months ahead to continue to deliver a more equatible and sustainable NY.

As Chair of the Subcommittee on Museums and Cultural Institutions, I know how lucky we are to have the Brooklyn Museum. That's why I’m glad to have worked with my partners in government to secure $10 million to fund a new African Art Gallery along w/other necessary improvements.

Fully funding our public schools and making progress on early childhood literacy is a substantial victory for New York students and teachers.

Thank you, Amy. Because you and others shared your stories and organized we are finally able to make NYC streets a little safer.

A noise tax on wasteful, luxurious, and completely unnecessary helicopter flights to JFK and the Hamptons is a small start to curbing this selfish behavior.

Yesterday I had a great time touring the AIM Institute. If we are going to solve our literacy crisis and properly remediate students struggling with Dyslexia, we must work with schools like AIM that know how to build a successful literacy program.
