I’ve spent the last couple of years writing a 700-plus-page novel called #TheSisters. It will be published in Sweden by Albert Bonniers in early September and will be out in 🇫🇷🇮🇹🇩🇪🇳🇴🇫🇮🇩🇰 soon. Can’t wait for you to meet Ina, Evelyn, and Anastasia.
Cover reveal: My forthcoming novel #TheSisters aka #Systrarna was designed by the one and only Rodrigo Corral Design. I can't wait for the physical copies to reach me in Brooklyn. The book is now available for pre-order in Swedish: adlibris.com/se/bok/systrar… Thanks for your support!

Honored beyond words that #TheSisters is a finalist for the August Prize aka Sweden’s biggest book prize. Congratulations to my fellow finalists. Here’s my favorite photo of August Strindberg, the OG, looking like he’s packing heat. #augustpriset #ejibild Augustpriset

"As readers, we’re wired for some kind of resolution. We’re wired to look for patterns, so I think we gently need to remind ourselves that these are not the only patterns." Akanksha Singh speaks with Jonas Hassen Khemiri, author of "The Sisters." lareviewofbooks.org/article/a-stor…
"The Sisters is a transnational tour de force that squeezes and expands time like an accordion, or a pair of lungs . . . The novel demands and delivers." Thank you The New York Times and New York Times Books for this stunning review. nytimes.com/2025/06/22/boo…
"There’s something about the well-known tropes that makes it really hard for me to believe in. I need to be shaken up in order to appreciate a story or to make a story feel real to me," says Jonas Hassen Khemiri in his interview with Akanksha Singh. lareviewofbooks.org/article/a-stor…
