Just to be clear - as the Council Member for Greenpoint - I voted against this measure because we should have better preserved the outdoor dining program.

I’m getting more & more irate at the “$15 is economic hardship” line against congestion pricing. A single LIRR fare from Hicksville to Penn costs $14.50 & they never give one single shit about raising fares on riders. And drivers are wealthier overall. Just vile driver pandering.

Hey, remember when car/oil/sprawl companies and oil nation autocrats lobbied & bribed governments to create car dependent cities & suburbs, and once we became car dependent, WE became the biggest, angriest champions of unhindered road space for cars, cheap gas, and free parking?

The US used to have some of the most beautiful cities in the world. They were walkable and well served by electric transit. So much of that was destroyed to make it easy to drive. They were turned from places to be and go to, to places to drive through. We can restore our cities.
