Know what teachers did for my kids during remote learning? They spent all day online helping them. They hosted online lunch rooms. They accepted late work, making more work for themselves. They immediately revamped their teaching methods to try and accommodate 1/

every child and help them be successful. @wcpss made sure every student had a chromebook. They set up WiFi hubs in schools buses in places that kids needed internet. They helped kids feel cared for during a stressful and scary time. 2/

Now they are helping kids “catch up” to the standard test scores that, let’s be honest, are arbitrary at best. So shut up about “learning loss,” and be grateful for schools being a life line to our kids during a global quarantine. 3/

Also, Covid is real, get vaccinated, masks work, and if you don’t believe these facts, don’t come here and argue with me. 4/4

Upset about test scores? Then fund kids. Fund education. Give them housing, food, clothes and resources. Start with diapers, start with their families and their health. Give them books to read, childcare, and early education with lots of play. #nced #ncpol
