The rafters in our root cellar are going back in place after we restored the support structures inside. These giant logs came from trees cut in the national forest between camp and Yellowstone National Park. They've held the cellar together for the last 80 years.

The Japanese American Museum of Oregon will be closed this Thursday, October 26 for building maintenance. We'll be back open again Friday-Sunday.

Issei merchant, landowner, farmer, and prominent Hood River community leader Masuo Yasui was born #OTD in 1886 in Okayama, Japan. At sixteen, Masuo followed his father and brothers to Montana, working as a railroad crew hand.
