Salad that ran short because of some weather recently is grown on heavily irrigated, plastic covered, semi arid land. Pastoralism dominated there BECAUSE water was scarce. Feeding rich vegans out of season veg from poor people’s water doesn’t seem to be sustainable George Monbiot

He’s absolutely right. Cows are part of environmental sustainability. Methane from cows is part of the natural carbon cycle that after 12 years breaks down into natural CO2 and water. Grass absorbs the CO2 by photosynthesis and the cycle starts again.
