This 3/4 Cape was built in 3 stages. From the 1800s, when it was a Cobbler shop, to a 1970's addition with elements from an old barn in Maine. This village home is one of the six properties featured on our Sept. 21st Yarmouth Port Historic House Tour. hsoy.org/events

During the course of renovating this home, hidden objects were discovered. They are now on view. Curious? This circa 1800 half cape sea captain's home is one of 6 antique homes on our YP Historic House Tour. Just over 100 tickets left. hsoy.org/events

Luther Marston was part of a crew on the bark "Albert Henry", which set sail from Boston in August 1846, was seen in Nicaragua in 1847 and never heard from again. Three young men from Yarmouth, including Joshua Matthews and Benjamin Hamblin, lost their lives.

The Johnson and Crowell families have lunch while taking a break from picking cranberries in West Yarmouth. Cranberry picking was done by hand with scoops and could be back breaking, but locals looked forward to the extra income before winter.

Screening cranberries in West Yarmouth in the late 1800s. Once the cranberries were picked, they were screened for quality, then put in barrels and sent by train to market. Many sea captains often owned cranberry bogs in their retirement for income.

The David Kelley home at 24 Highland Ave., South Yarmouth, ca 1890. This federal full Cape style house was built about 1830, likely by David D. Kelley, the son of Seth Kelley. Standing in front of the house is Phoebe Louise Kelley, David's daughter.

280 Weir Road is one of the oldest houses in town, dating to 1720. It was owned by Thomas Bray, who built the first mill in what was then Weir Fishing Village. It is supposedly the only house remaining from the original fishing settlement (others were moved).
