1/ WHY OUR "LET IT RIP" APPROACH TO COVID IS SO BIZARRE I don't think people realise quite how odd this all is. The history of medicine is one of relentless improvement in health, against seemingly improbable odds. In my 30 years as a doctor, just some of the things I have seen:

I just spoke to one of my best friends who teaches high school and he tells me that even today, 100% of his students are still wearing a mask. The next generation is AWESOME.

I've cared for people who have lost their home because they had to pay for their dental care. I've cared for people who have gone hungry because they had to pay for their medications. It’s a privilege to think national dental care & pharmacare aren’t essential.

How on earth did wearing masks that prevent infection and transmission of multisystem disease suddenly become about “comfort levels” and “personal choice”?

In the midst of a pandemic, at one of the hardest hit hospitals in Ontario, a skilled, dedicated & respected physician leader and health advocate loses his job because he was critical of the government. This is wrong.

Per what the prime minister just said, Ontario is getting nothing today that they couldn't have gotten months ago on childcare. So, Doug Ford wasted months, costing families thousands, so he could have a talking point for his re-election campaign. #onpoli

GOOD NEWS: Brock University [Brock University] will continue to require indoor masking & proof of vaccination. Why? Because cases & hospitalizations are rising. Because we're in a 6th wave. Because they realize that protecting the vulnerable is still important. KUDOS TO THEM!

Families of Ontario, would you rather receive $200 per child or have your child's school get $200 per student? Imagine what $100,000 could do for a school with 500 students. #onted

😠Don't mess with the Oak Ridges Moraine. Doug Ford If we start paving over (capping) the Moraine it can't replenish the aquifers. The Legislation for it + the Greenbelt were science based decisions, not economic. 250,000+ depend on the well water. 25+ rivers flow from here.
