Coastwatch is calling on government to halt the pair trawling for sprat in protected sites now. Our nature designations mean nothing if the largest fishing boats Fiona K3 & Ocean Venture 2 can pair trawl through the magnificent Glengarriff harbour SAC protected for harbour seals

Last week our staff development day was hosted in Glenarm which gave us the perfect opportunity to show colleagues around our native oyster nursery and how we operate our ROV. A shanny even made an appearance for us from one of the oyster cages!

Landowner David Hampton planted larch pines in a douglas fir forest in Oregon in the shape of a giant, 300 feet smiley face 🙂 Every autumn the larch pines turn orange and the smiley face stands out.

nestling falls out of the nestbox. Mother peregrine dives after him. Happened friday and I only noticed this today. Found him alive and well on a lower roof. We have to observe if he gets fed before we intervene.

I'm an old oak near Crumlin. I was born in 18th century. On Tuesday I will be chainsawed by your government. Birds and insects need me in this season. It wasn't my fault I was born near this junction. There are better options. Department for Infrastructure John O' Dowd Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council DAERA

Hospital grounds don't come much better than this. Causeway Hospital Northern Trust extensive areas of native #wildflowers #orchids are stunning. These areas are managed as #meadows being cut & baled off once per year. Amazing habitat for wildlife & an ideal place to walk/de-stress.
