FIO hosted a group of students from BIMS and facilitated a tour of the R/V Western Flyer. Students got to learn about the vessel and its capabilities, and saw ROV Taurus in action as the pilots fired it up to conduct the routine checks that take place before underwater missions!

Scientists from USF College of Marine Science completed a trip aboard R/V Weatherbird II for the continuation of the SHELF program. During the cruise, the science party collected fish eggs with a CUFES and ran plankton imaging with the flow through system. This research was supported by FLRACEP.

R/V Weatherbird II hosted a 12-hour at-sea experience for The Florida Aquarium's Teachers at Sea program. The program consists of a two-day workshop to enhance their understanding of marine field research, followed by a research expedition to conduct a biodiversity survey.
