Data collected by EPA Ireland ecologists has been included in a new assessment of stoneflies in Irish rivers and lakes. With one species now extinct & a further 11% of species threatened with extinction our work has never been more important. For more info:npws.ie/publications/r…

A new species of Irish mayfly, Baetis atlanticus, was recently discovered by our EPA Ireland ecologist Hugh Feeley & confirmed by Craig Macadam of Buglife; the first new Irish mayfly species in 120 yrs. New paper forthcoming in the Irish Naturalists' Journal (Vol. 37 (1))
