Some of my favorite partners with the ECE program are back for another year! Jacki, Katie, and Emily from PEACE, Inc. visited Child Development I to talk about the Same Book Event and let current students vote for their favorite book! #LHSCTE #LHSEarlyChildhoodEd

Yesterday, Jacki spoke to Child Dev II about the Same Book Event and students voted for their favorite book, since they were a part of the event last year. Jacki talked about Head Start and her role as a parent educator and male involvement coordinator for PEACE, Inc.

Our Fashion Arts teacher, Kate Bateman, assigned her students a decade and they had to research what fashion was like during that period of time, develop an outfit for their model, and share what they learned through video recordings. The students did an amazing job!

Today, all three of my classes worked with children. Pictured is my first class, Child Development I, who hosted their first Liverpool Littles. We had children between the ages of 9 months - 3 years engage in free play. Thank you to everyone who brought children to the event!

Last Friday, Erin Hertweck spoke to ECE students about her daughter, who has cerebral palsy. She shared what adaptive technology is used to help improve the quality of her life and how to acquire items. Erin also addressed the importance of advocacy, inclusion, & representation.

On Thursday, Ms. Bateman’s class hosted Liverpool Littles. They had a Pumpkin Craft Party. 🎃 The students did a nice job creating activities and working with the children. #LHSCTE #LHSEarlyChildhoodEd

Yesterday, Child Development II students prepared their activities for today’s Fall Fun Fest at Liverpool High School 12:30-3:30 today. Bring your kids! We will be in the cafeteria! #LHSCTE #LHSEarlyChildhoodEd

ECE students guided children through activities at the Fall Fun Fest yesterday. It was a wonderful event put on by Mrs. Claridge and the senior class. #LHSCTE #LHSEarlyChildhoodEd

This morning, Child Development I students heard former student Brittney talk about her story of having hydrocephalus. She gave great advice to future professionals working with children. She also stated that while her condition is a part of her, it does not define her! So true!

At my daughters’ cheer competition today, I had the honor of seeing Liverpool’s cheer team. They are amazing! 📣💙🧡

Erin Vollmer, who was a NICU nurse for many years, spoke to Child Development I students last week. She described the NICU setting, care of infants who are in the NICU, what supporting families involves, and the profession. #LHSCTE #LHSEarlyChildhoodEd

The Toddler and Preschooler Fun Day was a wonderful event! 🎃 Great job to the students who developed and conducted the activities for our Halloween party, and thank you to the parents/guardians who brought children. I appreciate you all! #LHSCTE #LHSEarlyChildhoodEd

A former student of mine, Caitlinn Jones, spoke to students about being a labor and delivery nurse. Students had great questions! Guest speakers enrich the ECE program and are able to share real life experiences related to the content students learn. #LHSCTE #LHSEarlyChildhoodEd

Today was Child Development II students’ third time visiting Elmcrest Elementary. They are getting an opportunity to observe professionals in an elementary setting and work with children in grades K-2. Thank you EE staff! #LHSCTE #LHSEarlyChildhoodEd
